MCSJ tracks all phases of projects associated with permitting and code enforcement including applications, plan review, initial inspections, re-inspection, and more. MCSJ Permitting & Code Enforcement is fully integrated with other MCSJ Solutions.
Parcel ID's integrate with MCSJ Tax Billing and MCSJ Utility Billing, although they are not necessary. In conjunction with MCSJ Accounts Receivable, the Permitting & Code Enforcement module can invoice the applicant or violating property. There is also a GIS-ESRI interface.
Inspectors input into the system a default inspection type and schedule. Once the inspector's schedule is in the system, an inspection calendar can be utilized for scheduling new inspections, viewing currently scheduled inspections, and reviewing completed inspections. A notification is sent to an inspector when signing in, reminding them to view their schedule. Upon completing inspections, there is a user friendly interface to entering the results of their daily inspections.
Detailed transaction tracking and reporting is built into the solution including a detailed violation tracking report. An unlimited history is kept in the system for reporting and inquiring purposes. Custom reports can easily export any and all information to MS Excel. A report that is used often can be saved for a later date. City ordinances can be stored for quick reference. Activities such as plan review, inspections, sent letters, and re-inspections can also be tracked and reported upon.
A user can attach unlimited documents to permits or code violations.
All permit and violation types are user defined and can be built to mimic your local ordinances. The system will record all activity related to building and zoning permits from the application stage to project completion. The system allows the user to schedule inspections, send pre-defined letters and print CO's, CTO's and Certificates of Approval. Likewise, code violations can be scheduled for inspections based upon compliance dates and letters can be sent to the violating party.
The Construction Permitting and Code Enforcement module allows for an unlimited number of permit and violation fees. These fees can be based on square footage, cost of job or simply a flat rate. When entering a permit application or code violation, the end user defines which fees will be assessed to the record. The system creates an invoice to be sent for collection. All state mandated reporting and calculations are built into the system, such as the NJ DCA fee calculation.
