The Edmunds’ Fund for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), as of June 30, 2016 has contributed two million dollars to help improve the lives of children suffering from Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The ultimate goal is to find a cure for this devastating chronic illness that affects close to 200,000 children under the age of 18. All funds are designated for research work headed by Dr. Bob Baldassano, Director, Center for Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Most projects focus on researching new treatments for these gastrointestinal disorders. Dr. Baldassano’s mission and philosophy of care is simple: “Every child deserves a perfect life. I try to make that happen.”

Bob & Martha Edmunds are also members of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Chairman’s Circle along with the North American Children’s Circle of Care, the most prestigious recognized society supporting the 25 affiliated children’s hospitals in the United States and Canada.

Guts & Glory Race

Since 1996, starting twenty years ago, Edmunds & Associates became the primary sponsor for the “Guts & Glory” race held each and every summer by the shore in Ocean City, New Jersey. Our CEO, Bob Edmunds, has served as the race chairperson since 1996. In the last few years, over 2,000 people have participated annually in the event.

Since 1996, the event has raised over two million eight hundred thousand dollars, which is forwarded directly to the CCFA. This upcoming year, 2017, we have set our goal to exceed the three million dollar mark!

This event would not be possible without the strong support from the City of Ocean City and the many Edmunds’ employees who volunteer for the Guts & Glory race.

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the cures for Crohn’s Disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improving the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.

Since 1998, every Spring/Summer AAU basketball season, young men from South Jersey, between the ages of 14 – 18, travel throughout the country to pursue both athletic and academic goals at no expense to their families. Over the years, alumni include those that made it to the NBA, played professionally in Europe, earned college scholarships and/or attended the highest academically ranked schools, became doctors, entrepreneurs and NFL players.

Coaches are all volunteers and many are former players, while local high schools and colleges allow gratuitous use of their gymnasiums.

Balanced Lives for our employees

We encourage our employees to keep a healthy work and life balance. We want our employees to be great parents, volunteers and community members. Edmunds & Associates understands the importance of this balance.

Organizational values and interests become incorporated in the self-concept as employees increase their identification with an organization. However, employees also identify with their outside roles.  Most employees identify with not only the organization, but also other facets of their life. Allowing the two to balance each other is key. Edmunds’ provides support for its employees to allow this balance to occur.
