MCSJ Utility Billing & Collections is made up of all the necessary components to process utility bills, track meter readings and collect revenues related to these services.
Integration - Utility Billing is fully integrated with MCSJ Finance, MCSJ Work Orders and MCSJ Inventory Control. Accrued revenue and cash receipts are posted to the revenue accounts appropriately upon user verification. Completed work orders are posted to the accounts automatically and meters can be serialized and tracked through the inventory module that links to the accounts payable system.
UnlimitedHistory - Keep payment history and meter readings for an unlimited number of years. Estimate meter readings based on past years data or even average several periods of consumption. Track a customers payment history and print payment history reports for disputed bills and/or payments.
Meters - Whether your municipality or authority uses manual, touch pad or radio reads the system is set to handle them. All major meters and most smaller meters are supported in the billing system. Even import meter readings from a third party, there is no reason to manually enter meter readings data.
Billing - Bill up to four different service types, including water, sewer, electric and any other “service”, with an unlimited amount of rate codes. Rate code types include consumption based, flat rate, EDUs and percentage based. Multiple rate codes per service type per account allows the user to track many different “bills” under one service type.
Bill Printing - There are many options for printing the bills, laser generated postcards, self-mailers, single or multiple stub 8 1/2 X 11 formats. Direct debit and bar coding of the bills are included as part of the system.
Cash Receipting - All payments can be batched or posted “on-line”. Utilize the bar coded bill to minimize data entry errors. All the transactions for the account are available in the payment window along with user defined notes and messages for each account. All receipts will post to the revenue module upon user verification.
